“Massachusetts School Construction Is a Bright Spot in a Tepid Economy”
Consigli’s 263,700 square-foot renovation and 105,000 square-foot new addition at Methuen High School was featured in ENR’s New England Spotlight focused on the current health of school construction work in Massachusetts.
“’We’re gutting the entire building, taking it down to concrete floor, steel structure and outside wall”, says Jim Hervol, project executive for Consigli Construction Co., Inc., Milford, Ma., CM@risk for the project.’ A massive skylight will go down the center of the building, allowing light to cascade into the interior, says Hervol. Arriscraft masonry facing will be used on the exterior of the addition, and will blend with the existing façade to mute the massive size of the high school. The entryway, which provides the transition point between the two buildings, will be dominated by 30-ft-wide blue metal panels in the school’s colors.”
