Massport
Project: Black Falcon Cruise Terminal
Location: Boston, MA
Architect: Architerra Inc.
Handling more than a quarter of a million passengers each year, the Massachusetts Port Authority commissioned a 90,000 sq. ft. renovation of the existing Black Falcon Terminal in Boston Harbor.
- This adaptive reuse of a 1920s-era wharf structure incorporates energy-efficiency, improved circulation, new signage and updated amenities.
- Transformation of an unused third floor into a designated departure level provides space for passenger screening, check-in and waiting area for 300.
- Project was procured under the Massachusetts CM at Risk guidelines and completed in a constrained, partially-occupied waterfront site within an aggressive schedule.
