Following a renewed focus on major U.S. Naval training operations at Newport Naval Station, there was a need for a new aquatic combat pool that could support advanced training exercises.
- 25-yard, 6-lane pool includes a 3-meter diving board for man-overboard training, and includes a high-efficiency filtration system
- Formal partnering sessions during pre-construction helped the team identify specialty materials and vendors to expedite scheduling
- Working around an active Naval base, the team adopted a flexible scheduling approach, accommodating campus activities such as Morning Colors and outdoor graduation ceremonies
