Project: VA Maine Healthcare System (VA Maine HCS)
Location: Augusta, ME
Architect: Kendall Taylor & Company
One of the oldest medical care facilities for veterans in the country, containing 67-operating beds, a 100-bed nursing home, and a 50-bed dementia unit, required extensive renovations to occur within the operational hospital.
- A complete renovation of the third floor Ambulatory Surgery Wing involved Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Pulmonary and patient recovery rooms.
- Improvements and renovations on the sixth floor to physician offices and medical exam rooms included installation of a new air handler.
- Performing 10,000 sq. ft. of renovations within the confines of an active healthcare facility also involved tying in new mechanical systems to live existing systems.
