Wellesley College
Project: Newhouse Center for the Humanities
Location: Wellesley, MA
Architect: EYP Architecture & Engineering
Established to host eight to twelve resident fellows each year, The Newhouse Center is located within Green Hall, a Gothic campus building constructed in the 1930’s. This 5,000 sq. ft. renovation integrates modern program areas and equipment within the historic structure.
- Pre-construction involved extensive exploratory work to confirm existing conditions and 3-D modeling for virtual interior mock-ups and project logistics.
- Renovations to offices and gathering areas, accessibility upgrades, installation of new M/E/P systems and restoration of iconic historic elements were performed in and around the operational campus building.
- The updated interiors include high-end finishes such as Nana Wall radius sliding glass doors, bronze accents and wood panel ceilings.
