Project: Aubert Hall
Location: Orono, ME
Architect: WBRC Architects • Engineers
After receiving a grant from the Maine Technology Institute, the University of Maine upgraded their 12,000 sq. ft. marine sciences laboratory and captured energy savings through high-efficiency mechanical systems.
- Full renovation of several laboratories incorporated
new casework and fume hoods, all new high-efficiency windows, and the creation of a new cold room for sensitive laboratory materials. - Construction was sequenced to maximize efficiency during summer down time, with temporary relocation of faculty offices and student research areas.
- Work included coordinating M/E/P upgrades to systems that wrapped around the building’s exterior.
