Harry Parker Boathouse & Ruth W. Somerville Sculling
Pavilion
Community Rowing, Inc.

Consigli oversaw construction of the striking Harry Parker Boathouse and Ruth W. Somerville Sculling Pavilion for Community Rowing, Inc. The new facility, located in Brighton, is on a 3-acre parcel of land formerly used as a staging area for a construction site. Locating the boathouse at this site has dramatically enhanced this underutilized section of the river and reduces stress on the lower portion of the Charles by attracting users to the Brighton-Allston area.

The Boathouse and Sculling Pavilion incorporate striking designs that also offer CRI the flexibility and space to incorporate offices, class rooms, a paint booth, boat bay for repairs, showers and locker rooms, as well as training rooms and a dedicated multi-purpose area.

Perhaps the most noticeable component to the Boathouse is its exterior of Prodema wood panels that were sourced from a supplier in Spain, a long-lead time item that required precision installation. The Pavilion is encased by translucent glass panels, fastened by intricate mounting hardware. In both cases, Consigli's self-perform craftsworkers oversaw installation to ensure the proper care and execution were used to create the striking results.
