Peabody Institute Library
Town of Danvers

A 19th century structure listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Peabody Institute houses the public library for the Town of Danvers. The project encompassed the historic restoration of the exterior trim, moldings, roof and porch balustrade; siding, column, base and capital replacement; historic window restoration; LCC flashing and roof replacement; lead paint removal; granite paver installation; and interior and exterior painting.

The most challenging aspect of the job was the performance of the extensive wood restoration and lead paint removal while the library remained operational.

Consigli served as general contractor for the project and self-performed the finish carpentry and wood restoration. The project was completed in October 2000.
