After providing several months of pre-constriction services, Consigli completed construction for the new Project Place Gatehouse in 2007. Project Place has been providing training, counseling and supportive services for the homeless for more than thirty years and will use Gatehouse as a new resource center for its clients. Consigli started the construction of the Project Place Gatehouse at the corner of 1143-1149 Washington Street and East Berkley Street in the South End of Boston in early November 2005.
Due to the busy urban site safety and site logistics were of critical concern on this project. Two cross walks located at the corner of Washington & East Berkley remained accessible at all times. Consigli maintained pedestrian traffic pass under the scaffolding safely at all times. This was made possible by having the scaffolding fully decked off and a plywood wall between the new building and the inside of the scaffolding. Passengers were able to board and unload the buses safely at the East Berkley Silver Line bus stop.
