Project: Vassar Brothers Medical Center
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Architect: Steffian Bradley Architects
This established regional center of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care, and women and children’s health services embarked the building of a new, four-story, 100,000 sq. ft. design/build campus expansion, including state-of-the-art equipment, updated facilities and additional parking to serve its growing patient population.
- Work includes maintaining an aggressive schedule while responding quickly to changing hospital needs, as well as managing new construction and significant infrastructure upgrades with minimal impact on an occupied campus.
- New medical services and support areas include an ambulatory surgery center, endoscopy suite, patient waiting rooms, and offices. A new five-level parking garage provides 867 additional spaces.
- A standalone 5,000 sq. ft. cafeteria/retail building serves the entire Medical Center, allowing the current cafeteria to be converted into additional patient room space.
