Project Overview
- Gut demolition and renovation of a 250-year-old property requiring substantial structural improvements
- Creative structural system repairs to maintain significant historical integrity
- Full interior refresh of finishes and M/E/P systems
Located in the heart of Christiansted, this historic property renovation required an extensive demolition phase during which the entire building was gutted, revealing substantial structural issues that required creative upgrades. Custom built steel and reinforced concrete columns and beams were inserted into the existing frame, maintaining the building’s historical significance and supporting desired renovations.
Interior changes reconditioned common areas—kitchens, coffee bars and catering areas—and restored interior finishes including all walls, doors, millwork, casework and tile. New M/E/P systems were installed, as well as a three-stop elevator. Additional upgrades included a new exterior façade, doors and windows, silicone roofing system, parking lot, elevated courtyard, exterior grand staircase, decorative screen wall and upgraded mechanical yard.
