The renovation of an existing 800-seat dining hall improved efficiency of operations and now provides UMass Amherst students with diverse, made-to-order food options in a stunning new state-of-the-art central dining facility.

  • Procurement and construction were managed and sequenced within an aggressive eight-month timeline, as the facility could only be taken off line for one semester.
  • The new dining hall includes an advanced lighting package, 40 types of tile, custom banquettes and advanced acoustical systems that provide background music without drowning out student conversations.
  • In addition to due diligence efforts, which included selective demolition, hazardous material abatement, and identification of certain mechanical systems for reuse, Consigli coordinated food service equipment layout and installation with mechanical systems.
