Project: Claire T. Carney Library
Location: Dartmouth, MA
Architect: designLAB architects and Austin Architects
The centerpiece of UMass Dartmouth’s concentric campus originally designed by celebrated 20th century architect Paul Rudolph, will receive a 160,000 sq. ft. renovation and 27,000 sq. ft. addition to accommodate the Library’s growing collection.
- Consigli worked collaboratively with two design teams to renovate and construct an addition to an architecturally significant modern building while achieving LEED Silver Certification.
- Scope of work includes complete upgrade of all systems to the existing cast-in-place circa 1972 building, concurrently with construction of the new 27,000 sq. ft. addition on an occupied campus.
- The addition will provide a new entrance, lecture hall, main circulation desk, offices, café, and study areas.
