The precast concrete installation at the Life Time project in Parsippany, NJ required extensive, early planning to efficiently set the large structural elements on site. Supported by detailed Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) coordination, each precast piece was fabricated off-site to be fully prepared for installation. Once delivered to site, the 50,000- to 70,000-lb. panels were carefully sequenced for installation, allowing the structure to go up in just 25 working days—three times faster than traditional cast-in-place concrete. This precast approach reduced on-site risk and accelerated the project schedule while delivering long-term durability.
