Consigli is breaking out of the traditional role as ‘builder’ by teaming with development and other design and construction companies to create versatile partnerships within a tight economy. A case in point is Consigli’s work at Trinity College in Connecticut. By partnering with Kirchhoff Campus Properties, a student housing development company that specializes in turnkey financing, and KBS Building Systems, a Maine-based modular home company, the development has helped the college to secure alternative financing and build a $20.7 million, five-building student housing project.
“If we can satisfy the client, and at the end of the day build the building, we’re doing our job,” says Matthew Tonello, Consigli’s Area Manager for Portland, Maine. “Ultimately, our core business is construction.”
