Consigli Construction Co., Inc. Wins AGC Build New England Grand Honor Award

BOSTON, MA –  The prestigious Grand Honor Award for New England’s top construction project was presented to Consigli Construction Co., Inc. (Consigli) by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Massachusetts at the biannual Build New England Awards Gala held last week at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston.

Consigli was the only construction firm to be recognized with two awards by this regional juried program comprised of professionals from all facets of the built environment. In addition to receiving the AGC’s Grand Honor Award for the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences Campus, located in East Boothbay, Maine, Consigli also received a Merit Award for the Terminal B Parking Garage Renovation at Logan International Airport in East Boston.

The Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences Campus building team awardees also included design architects, Perkins + Will, WBRC Architect/Engineers, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, and subcontractors ABM Mechanical and Porter Drywall.  The three-building world-renowned ocean research and education campus is the first scientific research laboratory to achieve LEED Platinum status in Maine and one of only seven LEED Platinum businesses in New England.

The Terminal B Parking Garage Renovation project team included Consigli, designer Fay, Spofford & Thorndike, LCC, Massachusetts Port Authority, and subcontractors Heritage Restoration Inc., Broadway Electrical Co., Inc. and SOS Corporation. The total rehabilitation of this airport parking garage and supporting roadway system, serving New England’s largest and busiest transportation center, was constructed 11 months ahead of schedule and well under budget.

Since 1981, the AGC of Massachusetts has held a juried awards program every other year to recognize outstanding project teams for their collaborative approach to planning, designing and building facilities that meet the vision and goals of the owner and enhance the community in which the project resides.
