NEW YORK, N.Y. – Laura Bush, Director of Operations – NYC Metro Region, was recently featured on the cover of Commercial Observer as part of a profile highlighting her leadership at Consigli and in the construction industry.
After completing a high school internship in her hometown of Blackburn, England that allowed her to shadow construction work on an active jobsite, Laura was inspired to pursue an education and a career in the field.
It’s been a theme throughout Bush’s three-decade career: Women are a rarity in construction. Women in top leadership positions are even rarer. Bush is one of those women.
Since relocating to New York in early 2001, Laura has worked her way up the ranks and has led major projects throughout the New York City area. In 2021, she joined Consigli as Director of Operations and now leads the region’s 125 employees across two offices.
There’s a lot more women and a lot more diversity in the room. So, when you’re talking about the trades and everyone else involved — they physically see the changes occurring right before their eyes. They have to get on board with it. We’re not going backwards.
