Shire Human Genetic Therapies, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical manufacturing company, has expanded their presence in Lexington, MA with a new 180,000 sq. ft. office space. The renovation, which took place within the former Merck campus, created a modern, efficient, well-designed office environment that reinforced the Owner’s mission and image as a cutting edge, innovative industry leader. The new space includes 55 collaboration rooms, 53 conference rooms and over 700 work stations and private offices.
The project included the demolition of the existing interior space, which occured concurrently as the pre-construction and design phase finalized. Early release packages and early procurement ensured that the five month construction schedule was maintained in time for the move-in date. The project is targeting LEED Gold certification.
