North Hall, a new 410-bed, state-of-the-art residence hall with two-story parking deck accommodates Framingham State University’s growing enrollment needs and provides a prominently located gateway to the public university campus.
- Extensive use of BIM involved the creation of a full model in collaboration with the design team, allowing for the development of 3-D logistics plans and 4-D scheduling
to aid in construction as well as virtual flyovers and walk-thrus to improve campus communication.
- The 128,000 sq. ft., seven-story residence hall provides students four and six-person suites and conjoined double and single rooms with semiprivate baths, as well as spacious lounge areas, study rooms, and contemporary furnishings.
- Constructed to meet and exceed new standards under the Commonwealth of Massachusetts sustainable building codes, North Hall is expected to receive certification at the LEED Gold level by the U.S. Green Building Council.
