Semper Fidelis Memorial Park
Project Overview
- Marine medium girder bridge, a lightweight, man-portable bridge that a handful of Marines can assemble
- Space for over 10,000 new commemorative bricks
- Half a mile of new trail and a new footbridge
- Construction of a new Memorial Pavilion designed to complement the existing Semper Fidelis Chapel.
Located across from the Marine Corps Quantico Base, the 23.3 acres Semper Fidelis Memorial Park currently features 40 memorials, more than a mile of trails and overlooks the National Museum of the Marine Corps. The park is adjacent to the Marine Corps Museum and provides a place of remembrance and reflection.
The much-needed expansion will add space for 22 memorials, including two grand memorials that are upwards of 1200 sq. ft, with a focus on honoring modern-day Marines. The scope also includes the benches spaced out for quiet reflection and the Memorial Pavilion, which provides a view of the museum and creates an additional site for peaceful contemplation, similar to the Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel.
