Project Overview
- New GMP warehouse and cold storage facility expansion of the Vertex Manufacturing Center (VMC)
- Fast-track schedule while managing unknown conditions including underslab drainage, early procurement of steel, chiller, cold rooms, fire protection, racking, generator, and AHUs
- Existing space required new architectural, structural, and MEP infrastructure to support the warehouse facility program including new rooftop dunnage housing mechanical equipment and generator
Vertex constructed a cGMP warehouse and cold storage facility within an existing shell space in the Boston’s Seaport district to support the operations of their Cell and Gene Therapy (VCGT) facility.
The project consists of a cGMP ambient temperature and humidity controlled warehouse, 3,900 sq. ft. -23 degree C freezer room, 2,800 sq. ft. 4 degree C cold room, office space, MEP infrastructure, and structural upgrades to support the new areas of the existing building.
