Project Overview
- Aggressive schedule to replace the existing building deemed no longer habitable
- Integrating physical security measures and unique components to protect structures from potential hurricanes/ storm surges
- Ongoing subcontractor review process to pre-qualify team members for construction activities
The Army Corps of Engineers required a new Department of Public Works building to replace their existing building deemed no longer habitable. Working as a design/build team, our team and design partner SMRT will collaborate to effectively balance the stringent requirements for budget, schedule, quality, security and sustainability for the new building.
The scope of work includes the new construction of a 17,500 sq. ft. Administration Facility, 12,100 sq. ft. Engineering and Maintenance Shop, 3,400 sq. ft. General Purpose Storage Facility, 2,300 sq. ft. covered storage shed and 2,100 Entomology Facility. The project is being designed and built to meet LEED Gold certification standards and will include a photovoltaic power inverter system and rainwater harvesting system.
