Project Overview

  • Stabilization of three vacant historic structures: the Manor House, Stone Barn and Carriage House
  • Asbestos abatement, continuous air monitoring and selective interior and exterior demolition
  • Foundation repairs, structural modifications and new framing supported by temporary shoring, bracing and weather protection

Following the acquisition of Grasmere Farm, Soho House initiated a stabilization program to prepare three existing historic buildings for future development. The enabling work encompasses the Manor House, Stone Barn and Carriage House, which have been vacant for years and require asbestos abatement, selective interior and exterior demolition, structural stabilization and foundation repairs.

Construction includes continuous independent air monitoring during abatement, temporary shoring and bracing, weather protection and the protection of adjacent structures and retained elements. At the Manor House, work supports stabilization of the building and its front and rear porch areas. The Stone Barn and Carriage House require removal of deteriorated structural members, formation of new openings, foundation repairs and installation of new framing to enable the next phase of construction.
