Oyster-Adams Bilingual School opened in 1926 in the Woodley Park area of Washington, D.C., and by the 1980s had become one of the few bilingual schools in the country. In 2007, it merged with the John Quincy Adams School, expanding to include a middle school program.

This design-build project involved the full modernization and expansion of the Adams campus of the historic Oyster-Adams Bilingual School. Designed to accommodate 486 students, the project renovated the majority of the existing facilities and added a modest yet efficient addition to support expanded academic programming.

The completed project includes a full renovation of the historic structure, construction of a new addition and comprehensive site modernization. It was designed to meet LEED Gold and WELL Gold certifications, with an ambitious Energy Use Intensity (EUI) goal of 20 or less. The new roof was constructed to be solar-ready, including built-in conduits and structural supports for future solar panel installations. Completed as a joint venture with Keystone Construction.
