- Significant development in Boston’s Financial District connecting new construction into the existing block
- Challenging logistics to be coordinated with adjacent construction site in a high traffic urban area
- Complex façade integrating original masonry with a mixture of curtain wall and terra cotta rainscreen cladding
The new Hyatt Centric Hotel represents another phase of significant redevelopment in Boston’s Financial District. The hotel is part of Congress Square, five interconnected commercial buildings spanning an entire city block, which are currently undergoing extensive revitalization. The finished hotel, located at 68 Devonshire Street, will introduce 163 high-end guest rooms, and restaurant and retail space to the area.
The project scope will include a gut renovation of the existing 64,000 sq. ft., 11-story building. Directly adjacent to the existing building, our team will build a 20,000 sq. ft.,11-story cast-in-place building, which will be completely interconnected and integrated into the existing building’s façade and infrastructure. The project will be precisely phased and coordinated in order to complete the complex construction in such a dense urban area.
